Tuftonboro is a part of SAU #49, the Governor Wentworth Regional School District, along with the towns of Brookfield, Effingham, New Durham, Ossipee and Wolfeboro. Tuftonboro does grades K-6 at the Tuftonboro Central School, but other resident students in the area go to the Kingswood Regional Middle and High Schools, both located in Wolfeboro.
